Dr. Khaled Hamad

Dr. Khaled Hamad is an esteemed civil (transportation) engineering professor at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates since 2009. He holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware in the USA, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from An-Najah National University, Palestine.

Dr. Hamad is an active member of renowned professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and the Transportation Research Board (TRB). His research interests revolve around intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations, highway safety, and sustainable transportation and infrastructure systems.

With a prolific publication record, Dr. Hamad has authored or co-authored fifty journal papers, over 60 peer-reviewed conference articles, and has contributed to edited books and technical reports. His exceptional contributions have earned him several prestigious awards throughout his career, including the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, the University of Sharjah Annual Incentive Award for Teaching, the National Science Foundation Student Award, and the US Department of State’s Fulbright Scholarship.
